EP Briefing 2002-06-10: Sixth Framework Programme and Euratom (a number of amendments - consultation)

Finally in the joint debate on research and training programmes Konrad SCHWAIGER (EPP-ED, D) will be presenting a report on the 6th Framework Programme for Euratom (European Atomic Energy Community). The reporter is suggesting a number of amendments in order to specify the role of the JRC:

It should develop muclear safety with a view to enlargement.

It should promote international efforts to combat the illicit trafficking of nuclear materials

The JRC should help prevent nuclear material getting into terrorist hands.
