Europeās universities outlined their potential role in the continentās future, to coincide with European Commission president Jean-Claude Junckerās annual State of the Union speech.
A Association statement said that āall stakeholdersā must āensure the free flow of ideas and people in Europe and promote it throughout the worldā.
Universities āare some of the most efficient promoters of European valuesā and can contribute in areas āfrom regional development to science and academic diplomacyā, the statement said.
The EUA āwould welcome an exchange of evidence and ideas going forward, both for the benefit of European education, research and innovation and the European project as a whole,ā it added.
