The European Defence Agency has published a call for tenders for a technology demonstration study on digital line of sight (LOS) and beyond line of sight (BLOS) data links for long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicles (LE-UAVs).

The main scope of this study is to define an architecture for digital LOS and BLOS data links for long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicles (LE-UAVs). This study should:

- define functional communication concepts and architectures meeting those requirements;
- define technical communication architecture and performance requirements for main components;
- highlight trade-offs in various operational scenarios and a draft development roadmap. Schedule and cost of such an architecture and its main components should be included.

The budget allocation for the study is a maximum of 750,000 euro.
