Is it too late to suggest that “framework†is an unhelpful label in the research excellence framework and the teaching excellence framework (“England’s KEF: will it be a ‘patent-counting’ extra reporting burden?â€, News, 19 October)?
“Assessment exerciseâ€(as in “research assessment exerciseâ€) was better, and the original “research selectivity exercise†was even more to the point.
