Liceo de Cagayan University is a private university in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental. It was established in 1955 by Atty. Rodolfo N. Pelaez and Elsa Pelaez-Pelaez to provide affordable professional education for the youth of Northern Mindanao, particularly students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Since then, it has expanded from a small college into a comprehensive educational institution, and was granted university status in 1998.
LDCU operates three campuses in Cagayan de Oro City: the Main Campus on Rodolfo N. Pelaez Boulevard, the Paseo del Rio Campus, and the R. N. Pelaez Campus. Job description
An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) to join the Sustainable Materials Research Center (SusMat-RC) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).

The selected candidate will contribute to a pioneering research project focused on developing advanced bioinspired, circular-economy-driven biobased functional materials for sustainable agriculture, with a specific focus on water–soil interfaces, water retention, fertilizer/nutrient-controlled release, and soil hydration using multi-source biomass feedstocks.��

Job duties
The successful candidate is expected to:


	Design, formulate, and characterize biobased materials such as hydrogels, polymers, and composites for agricultural applications.
	Develop and optimize protocols for the encapsulation and controlled release of nutrients.
	Investigate water-use efficiency, soil moisture dynamics, and nutrient availability in water-retentive and responsive systems, with relevance to arid and semi-arid agricultural conditions.
	Utilize a variety of analytical, spectroscopic, and microscopic techniques (FTIR, UV–Vis, XRD, DLS, SEM–EDS, TEM, TGA/DSC) for material characterization.
	Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
	Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments, data, and findings.
	Prepare manuscripts for high-impact scientific journals and present research at national and international conferences.
	Contribute to the development of research proposals and seek external funding.
	Assist in the supervision of master's and doctoral students.


Requirements
To be considered for this role, ideal candidate is expected to have:


	A recently awarded Ph.D. in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
	Demonstrated hands-on experience in polymer/hydrogel synthesis, biopolymer modification, development of water-retentive formulation, and characterization.
	Experience or strong interest in sustainable agriculture, controlled-release systems, soil science interfaces, or water management in water-limited environments is an advantage.
	Proven ability to conduct independent research with a strong publication record.
	Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
	High degree of motivation, initiative, and a focus on quality research outputs.
	Proficient oral and written communication skills in English.

The successful candidate will be an experienced administrator with excellent organisational skills and a proven ability to manage complex documentation accurately and efficiently. They will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be confident using Microsoft Office applications, and have the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organisation. The Department of Chemical and Process Engineering (CPE) within the Faculty of Engineering is seeking to recruit a Research Associate to develop novel carbon measuring metrics to achieve a Carbon Circular Economy. Machine learning-based work will be carried out on thermodynamics, kinetics and catalysis of decarbonisation technologies, including biomass valorisation, CO2 conversion, waste plastic recycling, etc. This position is one of the three PDRA positions being recruited for one UKRI-funded project with an overall aim of reshaping a fossil-free feedstock carbon supply to accelerate net-zero.

The position requires prior experience in Machine Learning, and a background in Thermodynamics/kinetic analysis and catalysis is preferred. The postholder will be responsible for Machine Learning work on the key reactions, evaluating the role of operating conditions and catalyst performance, and developing new carbon measuring metrics built upon traditional Life-cycle Assessment techniques. The postholder will work closely with the principal investigator, other Research Associates, and the PhD students who are involved in this project.

As a Research Associate, under the general guidance of a research leader, you will develop research objectives, play a lead role in relation to a specific project/s or part of a broader project, conduct individual and/or collaborative research, contribute to the development of new research methods, and contribute to the securing of funds for research. You will write up research work for publication, individually or in collaboration with colleagues, and disseminate the results via peer-reviewed journal publications and presentation at conferences. You will join external networks to share information and ideas, and inform the development of research objectives. You will collaborate with colleagues to ensure that research advances, and you will collaborate with colleagues on the development of knowledge exchange activities by, for example, participating in initiatives which establish research links with industry and influence public policy and the professions. You will co-supervise student projects, provide advice to students and contribute to teaching as required by, for example, running tutorials. You will contribute in a developing capacity to Department/School, Faculty and/or University administrative and management functions and committees and engage in continuous professional development.

To be considered for the role, you will be educated to a minimum of PhD level in an appropriate discipline, e.g., Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, etc, or have significant relevant experience in addition to a relevant degree. You will have sufficient breadth or depth of knowledge in Machine Learning, Thermodynamics, and Catalysis, and a developing ability to conduct individual research work, to disseminate results and to prepare research proposals. You will have an ability to plan and organise your own workload effectively and an ability to work within a team environment. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to listen, engage and persuade, and to present complex information in an accessible way to a range of audiences.

About you

You will combine strategic ambition with operational discipline, use market and performance data to shape a strong and viable education offering, and build credibility quickly across both the TAFE and higher education environments.

You will possess:


	a postgraduate degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, together with extensive management experience in an educational environment;
	demonstrated experience in the senior management of vocational education and training delivery within a large setting;
	demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, VET governance, and operational implementation, with evidence of delivery against strategic and operational objectives and regulatory compliance requirements;
