Liceo de Cagayan University is a private university in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental. It was established in 1955 by Atty. Rodolfo N. Pelaez and Elsa Pelaez-Pelaez to provide affordable professional education for the youth of Northern Mindanao, particularly students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Since then, it has expanded from a small college into a comprehensive educational institution, and was granted university status in 1998.
LDCU operates three campuses in Cagayan de Oro City: the Main Campus on Rodolfo N. Pelaez Boulevard, the Paseo del Rio Campus, and the R. N. Pelaez Campus. Campus facilities include the Liceo Civic Centre, Sophia Residence Hall, Liceo Medical and Dental Clinic, and the Liceo EdTech Centre, supporting both academic and student life.
The university offers a wide range of programmes from basic education through to postgraduate studies across subject areas including medicine, nursing, medical laboratory science, radiologic technology, engineering, business, law, education, information technology, criminology, and the liberal arts.Ìý
At undergraduate level, the university has a particularly strong focus on healthcare education through six specialised medical colleges, alongside eight further colleges covering fields including aviation, teacher education, business, engineering, and the arts.Ìý
LDCU maintains international academic partnerships through its Office of International Relations and Linkages, supporting collaborative research, academic mobility and sustainable development.
